Salary

Do you have questions about salary and payment?

Here you will find answers to many of the most common questions our jobseekers ask us. If you are unable to find the answer to your question here, feel free to contact us at 22 01 80 00.

How does Manpower's payroll system work?
In order to receive your salary on time, it is important that you submit your time sheet before the deadline. See the payroll calendar under timesheets. This is done by recording your hours on Manpower's website. See the user manual.

Can everyone submit time sheets via the Internet
The Manpower Group's employees record their hours online at https://timereg.manpower.no. You don't have to have access to the Internet from your workplace, you can log in to the solution from any computer with Internet access.

Have you received my time sheet?
If you are in doubt of whether we have received your time sheet, you can check this yourself. Click the "submitted time sheets" button at the top left corner of the registration window. We have received the time sheet if you see that your time sheet for the applicable period is there.

I'm trying to log on to time sheet registration, but it says “user unknown”
Pressing the Enter key after entering your user name and password will result in the message "user unknown". To avoid the problem, click the icon that looks like a face - "log on employee".

I forgot my password for time sheet registration, can I get a new one?
Upon initial login, the password is your last name. When you change the password, you can also add a password reminder. If you enter the wrong password for subsequent login attempts, the reminder will automatically pop up. If you still are unable to log on, click the "Send new password" link. You receive a new system-generated password to the e-mail address you have previously provided to us.

Will I be receive wages even if I have not submitted a tax card?
Yes, you will receive wages, but you will be deducted 50% in taxes. Remember to submit your tax card as soon as possible even if you only work for one day. Tax cards must be submitted by the same deadline as your first time sheet.

Can I get an advance on my salary?
There are no advance salary schemes in Manpower.

I've been away from work, how do I record this in my time sheet?
Absent whole day:
Hours not worked must be entered in the column to the right with the associated code.

Absent part of the day:
The number of hours not worked must be entered in the column to the right with the associated code. In the column ‘Normal time’ enter the normal working hours for the day, from hour to hour (e.g. 0800 - 1600).
The sum of the hours in the ‘Total normal time’ will be the number of hours worked, and hours absent will be deducted.

Example:
You were at the dentist for three hours, and must register hours as follows:

Normal time: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 30 min. lunch
Total normal time: 4.30 hours

In the right column: 3.00 hours with absence code 2
The hours must be registered in this way regardless of whether you come a little later one day, are away in the middle of the day or leave before the end of the workday.

Holiday and holiday pay
Your right to holidays and determination of holidays follow from the provisions of the Holiday Act and the Working Environment Act. Under the Holiday Act everyone has the right to take out 21 days of holiday, which amounts to four weeks plus one day. Arrange your holiday period well in advance, both with the client and your consultant at Manpower. It is important that you notify us of when you wish to take your holiday.

The Holiday Act stipulates that you must be paid a minimum of 10.2% of the holiday pay basis, i.e. what you have been paid the previous year. Holiday pay earned the previous year is paid on 7 June. If you will be going on holiday before this, notify us to have holiday pay paid corresponding to the length of the holiday 2). If you terminate your employment with us, you can demand final settlement with your final salary payment. For those over the age of 60, holiday pay for extra holiday will be paid together with salary on 9 September. Holiday pay that is paid in the earning year is taxable.

1) In an agreed contract period, you are subject to the same rules regarding holiday time, holiday pay, holidays and compensation on such days as the client would have applied if you had been employed (usually temporarily) with the client.

2) Example: You have hourly rate of NOK 170 and ordinarily work 37.5 hours per week. This represents a gross weekly salary of NOK 6375 that you could get paid if you've accrued enough holiday pay.

Can I wait to receive holiday pay until next year even if I quit now?
Unless you provide other instructions regarding the payment of holiday pay when you quit, we will automatically pay holiday pay on the first payroll in June next year. If you want your holiday money paid earlier, please contact us and we will pay your holiday pay on the next payroll. If you quit and Manpower is due money that has not been deducted on payment of salary, MP will pay the final settlement in the month after you have quit to cover the balance.

Payment of holiday pay
We pay holiday pay on 9 June or the last working day prior to that.

If you take out holiday before 9 June and want holiday pay for the holiday, you must notify the payroll office that you want payment of holiday pay. Then you will be paid holiday based on the length of your holiday along with your salary before going on holiday. If you have booked your holiday, and have to pay for this several months before departure, you are still not be entitled to holiday pay until the salary before the holiday starts. If you are taking one week of holiday, you will receive holiday pay equivalent to one week.

Example:
You have hourly rate of NOK 120 and ordinarily work 37.5 hours per week. This represents a gross weekly salary of NOK 4,500 that you could get paid if you've accrued enough holiday pay.
